Al-Assad, Mubarak, King Abdullah review Arab summit agenda, inaugurate electricity grid

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and the Jordanian King Abdullah on Wednesday held a meeting in damascus at the Umayad's conference palace.
The meeting was attended by the Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri during which the three Arab leaders discussed topics of the agenda of the forthcoming Arab summit due to be held in Amman on March 27; the importance of ensuring the success of this summit and ways and means of reactivating pan- Arab solidarity.
Discussions also covered certain issues concerning the electricity grid project between the three Arab countries.
The three Arab leaders resumed talks in a second meeting held at the Damascus Airport's " Honor Hall."
Earlier in the day, President al-Assad inaugurated the electricity grid project in the Deir Ali district in the damascus countryside province. The inauguration ceremony was attended by President Mubarak and King Abdullah.
Ministers of electricity in Syria, Jordan and Egypt also attended the inauguration ceremony in which the talked about the importance of the project in attaining more progress for the member countries and meeting their needs of electrical power.
However, the inaugurated station links the Syrian electric network to hose in Egypt and Jordan and it makes up part of the regional grid between Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey.
In conclusion of the ceremony, the Syrian minister of electricity Munib Saem al-Daher awards three shields to the three leaders.
After the inauguration ceremony President al-Assad gave a luncheon banquet in honor of President Mubarak and King Abdullah. It was attended by the Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri, the Turkish minister of electricity and the delegations accompanying the three leaders.
