Egypt supports restricting use of veto

Egypt's permanent delegate to the UN Ambassador Ahmad Abul-Gheit stressed that Security Council (UNSC) reforming process would not be confined to enlarging SC's membership. He said that Egypt stressed, during the meeting of General Assembly, which had been earmarked for the restructure of SC, the restriction of the use of the veto power.
Abul Gheit added that most of UN member states stressed that Security Council permanent states had abused the right to use veto, UN members called for restricting the use of veto and to focus on issue's related to maintaining world peace and security.
