Round table on best practice in civil service management
Morocco, Politics, 3/14/2001

A Round Table on a new system of improved performance management in the Morocco Civil Service was held in Rabat on Monday.

The event, sponsored by the Ministry of Civil and Administrative Reform, in partnership with the British Council and the British Embassy in Rabat, looked at a guide on performance evaluation.

The guide was elaborated by a team from the Ministry of Housing and the Ministry for Civil Service Reform which has been working with Human Resources specialists from the University of Manchester in the UK for the last 12 months.

Together they have developed a guide on performance evaluation, first piloted in the Ministry of Housing and now due to be introduced in all Ministries. They have also produced a training video on the most effective ways for managers in the civil service to conduct appraisal interviews.

A statement by the British embassy in Rabat said in order to continue this practical program of cooperation aimed at sharing best practices in civil service management and encouraging good governance, Minister for Civil Service and Administrative Reform, M'hamed El Khalifa will visit London at the end of March to confer with executives at the British Civil Service College, the Cabinet Office and the University of Manchester.
