Israel threatens to prevent the pumping of al-Hasbani waters
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 3/14/2001

Israel on Tuesday threatened it will challenge Lebanon's intention to install a station to pump the water of al-Hasbani river and remarked it will direct a " hard blow" against Lebanon if it will not control the situation on the border, calling on the Lebanese government to send the army very soon to the south.

During his tour on the border with Lebanon the Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aleazer said upon meeting with heads of the israeli settlements in North Israel: " we want to reach a quick settlement in order to live as good neighbors on the two sides of the border fence."

He added that " part of the measure of the Israeli forces from south Lebanon was to explain that we do not have any intention to keep our soldiers in the other part of the borders and despite of that, we have a strong army that can direct a hard blow against all those who stand against us. The plans of the Israeli army also imply a quick reply in case we are obliged to."
