Belgian investors explore Moroccan market

A delegation of Belgian investors is expected in Morocco this Monday on a four-day visit to explore the possibility to set up in the kingdom a major poultry project.
The project, to supply quality eggs to European agri-food industry, will be probably located in the Northern city of Tangier, which is close to Europe, Brussels deputy and chairman of the Belgian-Moroccan chamber of commerce and industry, Mostafa Ouezekhti told MAP bureau in Brussels.
Ouezekhti said this integrated project might generate 300 direct jobs and scores of indirect jobs. The project various units will in the long run produce one million egg per day, he said.
The project initiators have first contemplated to locate it in Poland but finally opted for Morocco which provides more advantages, mainly in matters of labor costs and geographic proximity, he explained.
