Exporting way-out for Egypt's economic problems
Egypt, Economics, 3/10/2001
Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Youssef Ghali said that exporting is the only way out for Egypt's economic crises.
He said that all of the country's institutions are working at present to further exporting activities and open new markets for Egyptian commodities.
Speaking to Al-Arab Al-Youm newspaper, Ghali said that his ministry has prepared files on all exporting problems, setbacks and bundles.
Ghali said that a specific trademark, a pyramid with a cotton boll in the middle, made as a tag on Egyptian cotton-made production to attain world fame and reputation.
"It will take some time to prepare the Egyptian society to be one working for exporting," said the official.
"To export, you need a huge increase in production and to improve the quality of your product," said Ghali.
He underlined the importance of working out a group of measures to enable Egyptian industries to achieve a boom in the volume and quality of the production to invade world markets.
After some time, low-quality or pricey goods would not stand their ground, even in the local markets, against high-quality and less expensive foreign commodities.
