Arab Lawyers union holds in Beirut; independence of the judicial system

The Arab lawyers union holds its 20th conference in Beirut on March 20. The conference will discuss the challenges and dangers facing the Arab nations and the persistent Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people.

Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) reports quoting head of the union Farouk Abu Essa the four-day conference would also examine the Zionist plans aimed at Judaizing the city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

He added issues on the agenda include democracy, human rights, independence of the judicial system and the law profession in the Arab states, in addition to vocational and political matters.

The conference, which consists of nine committees, will look into matters of concern to the Arab world, globalization, political, economic and cultural changes in the world order and obstacles hampering the achievement of the Arab economic integration.
