More openness in Turkish- Syrian relations

The BBC correspondent in Ankara said on Friday that the Syrian authorities permitted more than 4,000 Turkish citizens from 1050 Kurdish families to visit their relatives in al-Hassaka district and its suburbs.

The correspondent added that the Turkish and Syrian authorities have taken necessary arrangements for these families to cross the border during Eid al-Adha days.

During the last Eid al-Fiter ( after fasting the month of Ramadan), the Turkish families hosted more than 5,000 Syrian citizens who visited their relatives and families in Turkey.

He added that these visits fall in the course of the d?tente policy started in 2000 between Syria and Turkey.
