A British minister and Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 3/10/2001
The British minister of state for foreign affairs Brian Welson has stated that the sanctions imposed on Iraq did not achieve a complete success, noting that despite this fact there is no need to replace them by " smart sanctions." In a statement to the London- based al- Sharq al-Awsat daily issued on Friday, the British official remarked that there are differences between the British and American view points on the future of their policies towards Iraq.
