A state of alert among the Somali war factions

The armed groups in Makadishu which oppose the provisional government have put their forces in alert with the aim to prevent the new administration from having control on the capital within the coming 48 hours.

AFP said the warring groups stationed in the southern part of the Somali capital Makadishu announced their determination not to permit the police to impose order and the law, SANA reported.

On the other hand, the leader of the united Somali congress Muhammad Deiri Alami said: " our elements are in a state of alert to withstand the aggressions of the provisional Somali government."

Alami added that " the provisional Somali government which is thirsty for battles wants to be the reason for a new blood bath in Makadishu and this government will be held responsible for the results.

On Thursday, the Somali President Abdi Qasem Salat Hassan gave his orders to the policemen to enforce honoring of the law and order in all parts of Makadishu and to disarm members of the militias from their weapons and also to eliminate illegal barriers from roads and to arrest all those who resist these conditions.
