Moroccan athletes in world indoor championships

Several Moroccan athletes are taking part in the IAAF's World Indoor Athletics Championships starting this Friday in Lisbon, Portugal.
1500 m world champion and world record holder, Hicham El Guerrouj, and his countryman Said Berrioui will be competing in the 3000 m race, while Youssef Baba and Adil El Kaouch will line up in the 1500 m.
In the women competitions, Asmae Laghzaoui will show up in the 3000 m race and her countrywoman Hasna Benhassi in the 1500M.
Athletes from several other African countries are also taking part in the event, organized by the Monaco-based International Amateur Athletics Federation. A record 600 athletes from 135 countries are participating in the three-day world championships.
