Morocco attends international conference on Imam Ali in Tehran

Morocco will take part in the international conference on Imam Ali to be held in the Iranian capital city Tehran as of March 12.

Member of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, Abdelhadi Tazi, will make a presentation on "the presence of Imam Ali since the creation of the Islamic state through popular literature in Morocco." The paper focuses on the interest Malhoun lyrics writers have always granted to the hagiography of Imam Ali and his role as well as the role of his spouse Fatima Zahra, the prophet's daughter, in the setting up of the first Islamic state.

The conference, sponsored by the Supreme Culture Council in Iran, is part of the commemoration of Imam Ali's international year. Some 45 papers in Arabic, Persian and English are to be presented during the encounter.
