No date set for concluding new Morocco-EU fisheries accord, spanish minister

No date and no deadline were set for the conclusion of a new fisheries accord between Morocco and the European union, said Spanish minister of agriculture, fisheries and food, Miguel Arias Canete. The only deadline set by the latest meeting of European agriculture ministers concerns the study of measures to convert the European fishing fleet in case the accord with Morocco is not signed, Canete said.
The statement was made in Madrid Tuesday at a conference on fisheries negotiations between Morocco and the EU. The conference was attended by Spanish local ministers of agriculture and fisheries.
