Powell: Bush for transferring the embassy to Jerusalem a capital for israel
Regional-USA, Politics, 3/8/2001
The US secretary of state Colin Powell has stressed that the US President George Bush is still committed to what he vowed before the elections in the US concerning the transfer of the US embassy in israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem "a capital for Israel," but he did not fix a date for that.
Replying to a question on whether Powell had described Jerusalem as a capital for Israel constitutes a change for the US policy concerning this case, the spokesman for the US state department refused to comment before he can get an explanation to this effect from Powell himself.
