Regional-Israel, Economics, 3/7/2001
Arab economists and businessmen have called on the forthcoming Arab summit to be held in Amman to pay interest to boosting inter- Arab economic cooperation projects, especially the project provides for the supplies of Egyptian natural gas to several Arab states.
They also urged the completion of the electricity grid project among the Arab states. The Arab businessmen considered that the project provides for the transportation and marketing of natural gas to each of Syria, Jordan and Lebanon will be a key future project and a qualitative turning point in joint Arab integration.
The Arab businessmen also warned against the operations of exporting natural gas for Israel, stressing that this would contribute to the development of the Israeli economy. A mater which is in contradiction with the political indications of the Arab states especial in this critical phase of the peace process in the Middle East.
