A satellite for development in Egypt and the Arab homeland

The chairman of the national commission for remote- sensing in Egypt Muhammad Adel Yahya has announced that Egypt is thinking on processing a satellite for peaceful uses in development projects in Egypt and the Arab homeland.
He said that this satellite which will be called " the explorer " of the desert will help in taking Arial pictures and registering desert phenomenon. He added that by December 2001 the project provides for building the largest station to receive Arial pictures by satellites in Aswan will be built. He stressed Egypt's readiness to co-operate in order to meet demands of any Arab states to this effect.
