International court postpones the decision on Qatar, Bahrain
Bahrain-Qatar, Politics, 3/7/2001
A spokeswoman for the International court in the Hague, Holland explained that the court has postponed its decision in the case of border dispute between Qatar and Bahrain, which was expected by the end of 2000 due to the preoccupation of the court in Congo and Belgium.
The spokeswoman said that the International court has not decided yet a date for releasing the verdict, stressing that this decision will be taken soon.
She denied that this postponement to have been made by any each of Qatar and Bahrain with the aim to avail the two countries ( Qatar and Bahrain) to reach a settlement between themselves outside the court before the issuance of the verdict.
However, on Friday the Ruler of Qata Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani visited Bahrain and his visit lasted for several hours to congratulate the ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa over the success of the referendum held concerning the national work charter and the support of the Bahraini people for all initiatives and steps taken by the Emir.
