Train trips to start on Saturday between Damascus, and Tehran via Iraq

The Syrian local Arabic daily Tishreen said on March 4 that as from Saturday ( March 10) passengers trains will start trips between Syria and Iran through Iraq.
The paper added that a weekly trip will be started every Saturday from Damascus to Aleppo ( 355 Km to the north of Damascus ) and then to Tehran and this train will pass 2350 Km within 60 hours.
Another train will make another trip in the opposite direction and it will leave on Saturday evening Tehran to reach Tuesday morning Damascus.
In July 2000, Iran and Syria signed a protocol to link railway networks through the Iraqi territories.
