King Mohammed back in Morocco after visit to India and UAE

Morocco's King Mohammed VI returned to Morocco on Sunday after an official visit to India and a friendship visit to the UAE.

The king started his tour last Sunday with New Delhi, after which he headed on Saturday to the United Arab Emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, the king called on UAE president, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultane Al Nahyan, who has just returned to his country after undergoing medical exams abroad.

On the margin of the royal visit to the Gulf country, the two states' foreign ministers, Morocco's Mohamed Benaissa and UAE peer Sheikh Hamdane Ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, reviewed bilateral relations and means to consolidate them in various fields.

Economic talks were also held between Moroccan and UAE officials.

The two countries agreed to convene a meeting of their joint ministerial commission next April in Morocco to prospect ways of enhancing economic and trade cooperation and finalize the creation of a free trade area.

According to the UAE economy and trade minister, Sheikh Fahim Ben Soltane Al Qassimi, Moroccan and UAE products will enjoy a total exemption on customs duties while the UAE will be marketing Moroccan goods in the local market, in Pakistan and India.

He added that UAE businessmen are especially attracted by telecommunication, real estate and tourism thanks to the new investment law n Morocco.
