A nearby cabinet reshuffle in Yemen; corruption spread
Yemen, Politics, 3/5/2001

The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has stressed there is a government reshuffle in the government of the Yemeni Prime minister Abdul Karim al-Eryani within the few coming days. But President Saleh gave no mention if this reshuffle will include the prime minister or not.

In a press conference he held on Thursday on the occasion of declaring the preliminary results of local elections the intention of the general people's congress which won the majority at the parliament to join a coalition government with any of the opposition parties.

The Yemeni President added that corruption has started to spread in the body of the government and various organs since the establishment of coalitions, especially the tripartite coalition which included the congress, the reforms and socialists parties following the parliamentary elections in 1993.
