Syrian source denies ministerial reshuffle
Syria, Politics, 3/5/2001
A well-informed Syrian source denied in a statement to the London-Based al-Sharq al-Awsat ( Middle East) daily issued on Saturday news debated by Arab and foreign news agencies and satellite stations on Friday on a ministerial reshuffle in Syria after Eid al-Adha.
The source stressed there is no intention at the meantime to make a reshuffle in the current Syrian government.
The paper added that President Bashar al-Assad had informed the chief editor of al-Sharq al-Awsat in an interview by the beginning of February, replying to a question on a possible governmental reshuffle in Syria that any change should have an objective and well-known results that serve this objective and that every change in the government will be made when it is a need to do so and at the appropriate time.
