German companies, called on to invest in Egypt's railways

Egypt's Minister of Transport and Communications Ibrahim A1 Demiri met yesterday with the director of Frankfurt Airport's projects for talks on the possibility of implementing the third stage of Cairo Airport upgrading on the B.O.T system with a total cost of LE 3 billion.

Demiri who is currently visiting Germany met also with some representatives of banks and companies working in road building, railways, airports and harbours. He briefed them on Egypt's investment opportunities and the country's incentives and gurantees provided to foreign investors.

The Minister pointed out that the government will announce soon some projects on B.O.T system including Alexandria-Aswan highway due to cost $ 20 billion.

On Alexandria proposed underground metro project, he said the government received three bids from Canadian, French and Japanese companies to finance the project scheduled to be implemented this year
