Iraq's losses as a result of sanctions

The Iraqi trade minister Muhammad Mahdi Saleh said on Friday that all countries of the world suffered losses during the past ten years estimated at more than USD 200 billion as a result of the economic sanctions imposed on Iraqi since 1990, the suspension of Iraq's oil exports and its imports of commodities and goods.
Iraqi official sources said that Saleh explained that Russia's losses because of the sanctions reached $ 40 billion, $ 25 billion for France; Turkey a sum of $ 30 billion, Britain $ 25 billion, China $ 25 billion and other $ 30 billion distributed on other countries of the world.
Saleh indicated that the volume of trade dealing between Iraq and the UN, was $ 5 billion in 1990, before the imposition of the sanctions on Iraq.
