Jordan, Lebanon discuss peace, free trade zone

Jordan and Lebanon have asserted their stances on the need to achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle east provides for the restoration of the legitimate Arab rights. This was expressed in the talks held on Wednesday afternoon in Amman between the Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb and his Lebanese counterpart Rafik al-Hariri who arrived in Amman earlier in the day in a visit lasts for two days.
The two sides stressed their full backing for the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Lebanese prime minister stressed his state's readiness to continue the peace process if Israel is ready to honor and implement the UN resolutions.
The two prime ministers also discussed the possibility of signing an agreement of setting up a free trade zone and an agreement on administrative cooperation. The two sides agreed to form a joint Lebanese- Jordanian higher committee.
