Syrian President issues law on protecting author's rights

Syrian president Bashar al-Assad has issued law no. 12 for 2001 on the protection of the copyright.
The law, approved by the People's Assembly, provides for protecting the rights of all creative men of intellect and thought in all areas of literature, science and arts from different forms of plagiarism and distortion.
