Al-Qaddoumi to visit Syria after Eid al-Adha

Anwar Abdul Hadi, the media advisor for the chairman of the PLO political department Farouk al-Qaddoumi said in a statement to the Lebanese daily al-Mustaqbil issued on Monday that al-Qaddoumi will after Eid al-Adha (holiday) pay a visit to Damascus to draw the final touches on a joint work paper and to define the date for the visit of the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat to Syria, the visit is expected to be on the wake of the Arab summit.

Abdul Hadi added that al-Qaddoumi made contacts and positive and intensive talks with the Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on the need of restoring back co-ordination between the Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian tracks and that a draft was laid for a work paper based on commitment to Madrid's principles and international legitimacy resolutions 242, 338 and 194 on all tracks.
