Acts of violence in Algeria

Nine persons were killed, six of them are gunmen on Saturday and Sunday in acts of violence, according to the Algerian dailies issued on Monday.

The dailies talked about slaughtering two shepherds by an armed group at Seidi Bakhti town, 340 Km to the west of Algiers.

One soldier was killed and two wounded on Saturday in a bomb explosion in Seidi Dawoud near Bumardeis, 50 Km to the east of the capital.

Two civilians were wounded on Sunday in a bomb explosion in al-Akhdareyah, 70 KM to the east of the capital Algiers.

Meantime, the Algerian daily al-Watan said that 6 gunmen were killed on Saturday by the Algerian security forces in Ein al-Defleh operation 160 KM to the west of Algiers.

The paper the 6 killed Islamists are added to 27 persons who were killed last Friday in the same area by the Algerian army.

However, number of killing since the beginning of February is expected to increase to 230, including at least 150 gunmen.
