Arab Parliamentary Union Council Draft Communique stresses support for Intifada

Draft Communique of the 38th Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) session, which will be issued at the end of proceedings Monday, in Abu Dhabi stresses support for the Palestinian Intifada, settlement of pan Arab disputes by peaceful means and unification of arab legislation.
The Draft Communique calls for providing Arab financial support for the Intifada as approved in the recent arab summit resolutions and severing diplomatic relations with any country that recognizes Jerusalem as israel's capital or moves its embassy there.
It also urges establishment of a unified arab parliament and working on maintaining the territorial integrity of the Arab states.
Meanwhile, President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan AL Nuhayyan called for lifting imposed on the Iragi and libyan peoples international sanctions.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Sheikh Hamad Bin Mmohamad Al-Sharqi, ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah, at the inauguration of the 38th ordinary session for the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) in Abu Dhabi and integration and calls for unifying Arab ranks for the dignity of this nation.
The UAE News Agency said that Ssheikh Zayed also called for a firm Arab stand in the face of Israel's continued occupation of the Lebanese Shabba farms and the Syrian golan heights.
Sheikh Zayed expressed his country's insistence on retrieving the three UAE islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Moussa from Iran, urging Arab concerted efforts in support of the uae until iran realizes that its Arab relations are in danger as long as it ignores the constructive dialogue logic.
On the other hand, People's Assembly Speaker Ahmed Fathi Sorour said Speakers of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) will hold establishing the Arab Common Market.
Sorour said that the APUwould lodge a complaint with the International Parliamentary Union's Human Rights Commission against Israel's preventing of speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmed Korei from taking part in the APU proceedings in Abu Dhabi.
In press statements on Sunday, Sorour said that apu discussions dealt with some issues including the Middle East peace process, Israeli occupation of Arab territories and Iraq.
