Kuwait, the US renew cooperation agreements

Kuwait's deputy premier and defense minister Sheikh jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah has stated that the security agreement signed between Kuwait and the US in 1991 was renewed automatically for a similar period of time of 10 years starting as from the expiry date of the first agreement.

In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al- Rai al-Am issued on Saturday, Sheikh Jaber said that the agreement includes one article concerning spontaneous renewal unless one of the two sides inform 6 months earlier its intention not to renew nor to amend certain articles, noting " as for the security agreement with the US it was renewed at the consent of the two sides to proceed with it."

Worthy mentioning that Kuwait in 1991 signed security agreements with the US, Britain, and France and two agreements on military cooperation with Russia and China.
