One Palestinian killed 40 wounded in Friday's confrontation

News reports from the Palestinian territories said that the Palestinian Raed Mahmoud Mousa was killed in Bethlehem and other Arab Palestinian teenagers were wounded in the confrontation took place on Friday in the city.
The reports added that at least 40 Palestinians were wounded in the confrontations took place with the Israeli forces in Hebron and Ramullah after Friday's prayers when the Arab citizens converted their confrontations into direct clashes with the Israeli positions deployed in the surrounding of the Palestinian villages and cities.
In Gaza Arab youths detonated two explosives when two Israeli patrol passed by. The first patrol was passing on the road to Natsareim settlement and the second near " Morag" settlement.
The Palestinian youth Talal Hassan Abu Arida was hit by the Israeli bullets during the confrontation which took place near Rafah and the Israeli forces prevented his admission to hospital.
Eye- witnesses sad that the Israeli army on Friday bulldozed tens of planted dunnums near Beit Lahia town to the north of Gaza and the bulldozing acts targeted part of the palestinian national security positions in the town.
The Israeli bombardment of Deir al-Balah town resulted in destroying a school for vocational training and a house for Shamas family, while the Israeli occupation forces bulldozed vast agricultural lands and destroyed two houses near to Kfar Daroum settlement.
The Israeli forces closed the roads linking Gaza to Khan Younis and intensified its patrols in various parts of the sector and deployed many tanks in this process.
Palestinian medical sources stressed that tens of citizens were wounded in the Israeli bombardment of Beit Jala and the bombardment also resulted in heavy material damages in houses and plantation. A matter which forces several families to leave their houses.
Palestinian circles revealed that several Mossad's agents open fire intentionally against Israeli positions from Beit Sahour and Beit Jala to justify the bombardment of the two cities Beit Sahour Mayor stressed that one of the hireling, who was arrested admitted to have fired intentionally the Israeli side for that purpose.
The Israeli resigned prime minister Ehud Barak threatened that his army will carry out more acts of repression unless the Palestinian Intifada will be halted.
Meantime, the advisor for Ariel Sharon, Zalman Shoufal ruled out reaching an agreement with the Palestinians. He said that such an agreement is most expectedly not possible.
Shoufal called on the US to reduce its role in the peace talks. He said that the aim of Powell's visit is Iraq and not resumption of peace talks.
On another development, sources of the Israeli Labor party said that the Likud party refused to give the ministry of finance at the governmental coalition but agreed to give the ministries of defense and foreign affairs.
In Brussels, the EU commissioner for foreign relations Cress Paten called on the European Union EU member states to pressure israel in order to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinians and to eliminate obstacles laid by it as well as to lift restrictions on the Palestinian revenues.
In a report circulated in Brussels on Friday, Paten proposed that the EU to sponsor a conference for the donor states in the mid of March to put a financial plan to revive the Palestinian establishments.
EU sources reported that the foreign ministers of the European states are seeking in their conference which will be held in Brussels next Monday to work for safeguarding the Palestinian authority from the danger resulting from the Israeli economic siege of the occupied Arab lands.
The sources added that EU had proposals to the European ministerial council, including pressuring Israel to lift the siege imposed on the Palestinians and to convene a conference for the donor states in March to facilitate the fiscal situation of the Palestinian establishments in the coming months.
