Morocco's government sign with jewelry firm convention for handicapped persons integration
Morocco, Culture, 2/22/2001

The Moroccan department of women condition, protection of family and children and integration of handicapped persons signed on Wednesday a convention with "Oro-mecanica," a jewelry industrial plant, a convention meant to promote the integration of disabled persons.

This is the first government-private sector convention under which persons suffering from physical handicaps will undertake a professional training likely to help them find a job.

Ministry in charge of women condition, protection of family and children and integration of handicapped persons, Nezha Chekrouni, called other economic operators to join in the strategy meant to mobilize all public and private sectors in endeavors to overcome the illiteracy and unemployment problems.

Oro-Mecanica currently employs 250 persons, including 40 foreign technicians. (MAP)SH
