Iraq welcomes reconciliation with Kuwait
Iraq-Kuwait, Politics, 2/22/2001

Iraq's representative at the UN Muhammad al-Louzi has stressed that Iraq welcomes a reconciliation with Kuwait in order to unify Arab efforts in support of the causes of the Arab nation.

In a statement to Sawt al-Arab radio, al-Louzi condemned the US and British planes bombardment of Baghdad and adjoining areas and described these strikes as a flagrant aggression and in contradiction with the international legitimacy resolutions and the international law.

He added that the US hegemony against the UN security forces had foiled the discussions held to conclude results and decisions comply with the UN principles.

He called on the international community and the UN to condemn this flagrant aggression against Iraq. He underlined the importance of the United Arab position in confrontation of such an aggression.
