Egypt exports cotton to 28 countries

Egyptian cotton export contracts since the start of the new cotton season up to the 23rd week which ended Saturday, totaled 81.874 tons of various grades.
Amin Abaza, the Chairman of the Egyptian Cotton Exporters Federation said cotton was exported to 28 countries, at about dlrs 196.245.892.
Export prices for the next week, the 24th week of the export season, will remain unchanged from last week.
He said world cotton prices remained largely stable without change.
The cotton prices in Egypt are determined through fixing a minimum and a maximum price for various cotton grades.
An average of the two prices becomes the sale price.
Abaza said Switzerland remained at the helm of buyer for the Egyptian cotton, contracting for the purchase of 17.510 tons since the start of the season.
Italy ranked second and Turkey trailed third.
Up to 20.253 tons were freighted since the start of the season, including 4.611 tons to India.
"Exports are freighted according to a strict timetable," he said
