The Vatican for supporting Arab issues

Egypt's ambassador to the Vatican Farouk Raafat has asserted that Vatican's position towards the Palestinian cause especially towards the occupied city of Jerusalem and backing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the need of implementing UN Security Council resolutions 242 and 338.
In an interview with Sawt al-Arab radio on Tuesday, Rafaat added that President Hosni Mubarak's Tuesday's meeting with Pope John Paul II falls in the course of consultation and the exchange of view points between the two sides as well as the stress to support the Arab causes and restoring back occupied lands.
He said that relations between Egypt and the Vatican are good and have been consolidated since the Pope's visit to Egypt in 2000.
