Libya, Tunisia release joint statement

Libya and Tunisia have expressed their satisfaction over the remarkable level in the relations between the two states at all levels.
In a joint press statement released on Saturday late night in Tripoli in conclusion of works of the 14th session of the joint higher committee, the two states commended the good implementation of major projects and the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, tourism, the commercial exchange and the free trade area.
The Tunisian side renewed its country's backing to Libyan concerning the question of Lockerbie and called on the International and regional organizations to urgently move and to call on the UN Security Council to immediately lift the siege imposed on Libya.
The two sides stressed the need of Israel's complete and unconditional pullout from the occupied Syrian, Lebanese territories and their unwavering support to the struggle mounted by the Palestinian people in order to restore their legitimate national rights and the establishment of their own independent state with Jerusalem as a capital. The two countries also called for lifting the siege imposed on the Iraqi people and to halt aggressive acts against Iraq.
The two sides expressed joint care to back the Arab Maghreb federation as a strategic option and welcomed the unanimous decision of the Arab leaders to hold a regular Arab summit and called for supporting the efforts exerted to develop the mechanism of the joint Arab work.
The Tunisian prime minister Muhammad al-Ghanoushi expressed in a press conference before he left Tripoli on Sunday in conclusion of the works of the joint meeting, his optimism over the positive results the committee had concluded, noting this will give a strong impetus for the co-operation standing between Libya and Tunisia so as to give a push forward to economic integration between Libya and Tunisia.
