Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/17/2001

Confrontations escalated in the occupied Palestinian territories especially after Friday's prayers on Friday and the Palestinian youths confronted the Israeli occupation forces in marches of danger and three Palestinians were killed and 26 wounded by the Israeli bullets in Qilqelya, Khan Younis and Rafah.

Thousands of Palestinian demonstrators in the West Bank and Gaza defied the military siege measures in their marches of anger and five Palestinians were wounded during their confrontation of the Israeli forces which demolished the house of the Palestinian citizen Muhammad al-Akhras in Rafah.

Eye-witnesses said that the Israeli bulldozers backed by tanks and members of the patrols demolished the house under the pretext of hiding the Palestinian resistance men.

Replying to the Israeli aggressions, the Palestinian Intifada men attacked the Israeli armored vehicles near " Neve Dekalim" and opened fire on the Israeli military cars.

The Israeli artillery also bombarded al-Khalil and its surrounding and the bombardment resulted in killing two Palestinians and several wounded.

Meantime, the Palestinian officer at the Palestinian intelligence Anwar Mustafa Miri was killed by the guns of unidentified persons in his house in Bani Hassan village in the west Bank and then fled away.
