Powel and Arafat on the phone

The US secretary of state Colen Powel on Thursday evening made a telephone call with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.
The two sides reviewed current conditions in the region and the stalemate the Palestinian- Israeli negotiations reached after it has halted by the end of January.
