Egypt-Israel, Economics, 2/15/2001
The Egyptian oil minister Sameh Fahmi has denied signing gas exporting agreements with Israel since he assumed the post of a minister just one year before.
In statements following the meeting of the industry committee at the Egyptian people's parliament on Monday and that the only agreement to export the Egyptian natural gas came under the four-member agreement recently held between Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
Fahmi said that his ministry does not sign exportation agreement for ten years as published in certain papers, noting that the news published to this regard is groundless.
Worthy mentioning that the Arab news agencies and papers published a news that Egypt has signed with Israel an agreement to sign gas to Israel at USD 3 billion.
