Al-Hariri confers with the Arab League chief
Lebanon, Politics, 2/14/2001
The Lebanese prime minister Rafik al-Hariri on Tuesday in Beirut discussed with the secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Ismat Abdul Miguid developments of conditions after electing Ariel Sharon as a prime minister in Israel.
Following the meeting, the AL chief explained that current developments in the region in light of electing Sharon reflect a state of difficulty and complexities that need caution.
Abdul Miguid indicated that he had informed al-Hariri about preparations for the Arab summit to be held in March in the context of the meetings of the follow up committee which were held in Amman last week.
The AL chief said that all Arab states will be invited and take part in the coming summit and that the Jordanian government is working on this matter seriously and everyone is collaborating with it to this effect.
