Free trade between Saudi Arabia, Jordan

The Saudi minister of industry and the electricity Hashem Yamani on Monday in al-Riyadh discussed with the Jordanian minister of industry and commerce Wasef Azar the possibility of reaching an agreement to establish a free trade area to be the general framework in trade dealings between the two states.
In statements following the meeting, Azar added that he had also discussed the possibility of convening the meetings of the joint Saudi- Jordanian committee which has not met since 1997, industrial co-operation and encouraging businessmen in the two countries to expand and increase the participation in the investment opportunities available in the two countries as well as facilitating the exportation ability of the Saudi national factories to the Jordanian market.
