Iraqi opposition to halt activities harming to Iraq

Sources at the Iraqi opposition in Damascus said that they are committed to the directives of the Syrian authorities not to carry out activities or practices that might be harmful to Iraq. This attitude is in the course of the great improvement in the Syrian- Iraqi relations.
The Qatari daily al- Watan quoted the opposition as saying that despite the fact that the Syrian leadership did not ask the Iraqi opposition groups and parties to halt practicing political and media activities, yet leaders of this opposition have realized through their vision and following up of the development of openness between Baghdad and Damascus that there is a need to strengthen rapprochement and improving of relations between the two states instead of escalating the situation.
