Morocco's premier, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, will travel next Sunday to Khartoum to the 3rd session of the Sahel and Sahel States Community summit.

A statement of the prime minister's office says a Moroccan delegation, headed by foreign affairs and cooperation minister -Mohamed Benaissa- is presently taking part in the Community executive council held in the Sudanese capital in preparation for the summit.

Morocco is together with Egypt, Nigeria and Tunisia candidate to membership to the 11-member sub-regional organization.

The member countries are Libya, Sudan, Chad, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, the Central African republic, Eritrea, Djibouti, Gambia and Senegal.

Under the 1998 Tripoli treaty setting the commission, the aim of the organization is to achieve an economic union, promote trade exchanges and investments, develop infrastructure in member-countries, harmonize education systems and dismantle all obstacles to the free movement of goods and persons among the member-countries.
