Iraq appoints a new representative at the UN

It was announced in Baghdad on Friday that Iraq has appointed ambassador Muhammad Ali al-Douri as a new ambassador t the UN in New York.
It was also said that Muhammad al-Douri, Iraq's permanent representative at the European headquarters of the UN at Geneva, had submitted his credentials to the UN secretary General Kofi Annan, in succession to Saeed Hassan Musawi.
Recently, al-Musawi who acquired this post since February 1999 was appointed as the chairman of the international organizations and conferences.
