World Bank Determined to Back Morocco's Social Programs

The world bank is determined to back Morocco's social programs, all the more so as struggle against poverty is on top of the bank's priorities, said two senior executives of the bank who are currently on a visit to Morocco.

Head of the Maghreb department, Christian Delevoie, and director in charge of social sectors, Jacques Baudoi, made the statement at a meeting here Wednesday with Moroccan minister of employment, vocational training, social development and solidarity, Abbas El-Fassi.

The WB executives who were briefed on the political and socio-economic developments in Morocco since the early nineties, and on the government's priorities such as struggle against poverty and illiteracy and promotion of employment, voiced satisfaction at the development level reached by the Kingdom.

Christian Delevoie also conferred with Moroccan minister of the interior, Ahmed El Midaoui, on the various aspects of cooperation between Morocco and the international financial institution.
