After wrapping up his successful visit to Tunisia yesterday, President Hosni Mubarak took an impromptu, four-and-a-half-hour journey to Kuwait, where he immediately resumed his tour of Arab states. He held a meeting with Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, immediately after his plane touched down, and the two leaders later spoke at an evening dinner banquet. The two leaders are slated to hold a third round of discussions this morning.

The Japanese Bank of International Cooperation (JPIC) extended on Tuesday to Morocco a $ 43.6 million loan (around 458 million DH) to help in financing a double railway between Meknes and Fez. The project, worth $ 812 million, is a continuation of the Casablanca-Fez railway, says the Moroccan railway authority (ONCF) in a statement.
