Princess Lalla Meriem holds side talks on childhood in new york

Morocco's Princess Lalla Meriem, chairwoman of the Moroccan observatory for children's rights, who is attending the meetings of the preparatory committee for the special session of the General Assembly on children currently underway in the United Nations headquarters, conferred in New York Friday with heads of several delegations and executives of international organizations.
Princess Lalla Meriem surveyed at a meeting with UNICEF representatives for Western Africa, and for the Middle East and North Africa, Ms Rima Salah and Brahima Fall, preparatory events to be held at the level of Africa and the Arab world.
A special focus was laid on the events to be convened in Morocco, such as the Arab forum on childhood slated for February 15-19 and the Arab-African meeting due to convene in Marrakesh.
Princess Lalla Meriem also held separate talks with the permanent representatives of Columbia and with the delegate of Russia to the preparatory committee meeting.
Talks covered child labor and the issues on the agenda of the preparatory committee session.
