22 persons condemned to one-year prison for non-authorized demonstration

A group of twenty two persons were sentenced on Tuesday by the first instance court of Casablanca to a one year prison term and to pay a 5,000 DH fine ($ 470) for "participation in a non-authorized demonstration."
The group was found guilty of "participation in a non-authorized demonstration, illegal gathering in the street and for possessing dangerous objects for public security."
The convicted persons were arrested last December 10 as they were staging a demonstration on the occasion of the anniversary of the universal human rights declaration.
