Qatar nominates a woman at the international committee

The Qatari news said on Wednesday that Qatar has nominated for the first time in its history a woman for the next elections of the Child's rights committee at the United Nations.
The agency explained that " the higher council for family affairs" chaired by Sheikha Mouza al-Masnad, wife of the ruler of Qatar " nominated Dr. Ghalia Bint Muhammad Bin Hamad al-Thani to be the representative of the state of Qatar to the membership of the child's rights committee."
Members of this committee will be elected on February 26 at its headquarters in New York. The agency explained that the " nominee of the state of Qatar is the first Arab Gulf woman to be nominated for the post of the child's rights committee."
