Al-Assad gets a message from Indian counterpart

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday at al-Shaab palace received the Indian foreign minister Jaswant Singh. Present at the meeting were the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the Indian ambassador in Damascus.
Al-Assad expressed Syria's sympathy with India following the earthquake which hit it recently. And Minister Sigh expressed thanks to the Syrian President over the humanitarian aids Syrian gave to India at his initiative.
Minister Singh conveyed a message to president al-Assad from President Narianan of India. The message extends an invitation to the President to visit India and the President accepted the invitation and promised to fulfil it at due time.
Talks dealt with prospects of co-operation between the two countries and means of developing them on the ground of deeply rooted relations which go back to thousands of years.
The Indian minister noted his talks with the Syrian counterpart Farouk al-Shara and expressed satisfaction over them.
Later in the day, the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro discussed with the Indian minister means of boosting co-operation relations between Syria and India in various economic, trade and scientific fields and in exchanging technical expertise in the fields of information and technology in the interests of the two countries.
