5th Arab dairy products conference and First Arab and international special exhibition of dairy products

Under the patronage of the Syrian government, the Arab Federation for Food Industries an Arab international association- and the National committee for dairy products, the 5th Arab dairy products conference will be held in Damascus in April 3 through 5 2001.
Simultaneously, the First Arab and International Exhibition of Dairy products ( Dairex 2001) will be held in the same period on April 3 through 6, 2001 in Damascus.
The introduction of the conference made by Dr. Khalil Jawad, director of the regional office of the Arab federation for food industries in Damascus, said that the conference will highlight all issues, practices and activities portraying the sector of dairy products and will study the existing and future status quo of productivity, economies, developments and growth requirements of the various aspects of this sector which enjoys a prominent position on the local, Arab, regional and international platform.
It stands to be the entrance for one of the most important investment in the food sector which bolsters up and supports national food security. Dairex 2001 is also designed to offer, through a distinct exposition, the latest technological and productivity innovations in the realm of dairy products across an Arab and international spectrum.
The outcome of this gathering will be the steady ground for the exchange of experience and acquaintance with techniques and the new approaches and developed innovation in the domain of dairies from raw material to the end products.
Dr. Jawad added that mutual Arab co-ordination preserves Arab integrity and food security and will ensure the common best interests of Arab people. It will avail the substantial positive conditions that encourage the flourishing of food industry, in general, and the dairy industry, in particular, and its prosperity to local and foreign markets .
The conference will deal through studies and analysis with all subjects relating to the Arab dairy industry and with the international status quo projections and leaps in this industry. It will above all embark on the study of the existing situation and prospects of raw milk production in the Arab countries; Study of the Bovine herds (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat, and camel) Fresh milk productivity, development of raw milk varieties and the possibilities to upgrade the entire production; Feed requirements for livestock, and means of availing them; Pioneer Arab experiments conducive to upgrading raw milk productivity and production; Sanitary conditions for imports of pedigree milk cows; Methods of production applied to raw milk; Study of the existing situation and horizons of raw milk processing in the Arab countries; Prospects for developing collection of raw milk and how to upgrade them; Arab production mans available for manufacture of dairy products ( pasteurized, sterilized and flavored liquid milk, yogurt, labneh, butter, cream milk ice-creams, other products ); Nature of dairy plants in Arab countries and standardization of their production ( large scale, medium, small, occupational industries); Production sources and management and maintenance requirements of Arab dairy plants; Environment protection and good workmanship of dairy industrial production in Arab countries; Packing and packaging systems used for Arab dairy products ( technology material); Technical, economic and managerial staff required by Arab dairy industry and how to train them and further their productivity; Specifications and control parameters of quality assurance and management systems as well as ecological management of dairy industry in the Arab world; Dairy economies in the Arab countries ( production costs, imports, exports, varieties, future keystones and horizons; Scientific research and technical development for Arab dairy industry; Arab dairy industry within the framework of globalization, Euro-Mediterranean partnership and establishment of the greater Arab free trade Zone; Technical and economic world advancements in dairy industry and their repercussion on Arab dairy industry; Future Arab requirements in dairy products up to the year 2010 and how to address them, nature of Arab production and service projects proposed in agricultural, industrial and marketing fields.
